Asbury Edge ("we," "our," or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Please read this policy carefully. By using Asbury Edge, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name
- Username: A unique username you set once during account setup
- Support Tip Data: Where support checkout is available on iOS, Android, or web and you choose to make a voluntary support tip, we may receive payment metadata from Stripe, such as the selected support tier, amount, payment status, email address, and account identifier. We may use your username in an in-app supporter recognition notification visible to other users. Support tips do not unlock app functionality, content, badges, status, or services.
- Profile Information: Any additional information you choose to add to your profile
- User Preferences: Theme mode, favorite event categories, hidden categories, hidden locations, followed locations, notification preferences, favorite reminder settings, and favorite calendar settings, synced to the server when you are signed in
- Favorites: Events you save to your favorites list
- Push Notification Data: If you opt in to notifications, we store a push token, device/platform details, and the notification preferences needed to send only the alerts you choose
- Profile Images: If you choose to upload or update your avatar, we process the selected image
- Search History: Your recent searches (up to 10 queries), stored locally on your device only and never sent to our servers
Information from Third-Party Services
If you sign in using Google OAuth or Apple Sign-In, we receive:
- Your email address
- Your display name
- Your profile picture URL (if available)
Automatically Collected Information
In production app builds, we collect limited diagnostic data via Sentry to maintain app stability:
- Crash and Error Reports: Error and crash data, including stack traces and device state at the time of the crash
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, app version, and build/update identifiers collected as part of crash and error reports only
- Excluded Production Diagnostics: Production app builds do not enable Sentry performance tracing, profiling, user-interaction tracing, or session replay
- QR Code Scan Metrics: When you scan an Asbury Edge QR code, we may record the QR version, scan time, device/platform category, coarse region, and hashed network/device signals to measure campaign performance and filter duplicate or automated scans. We do not store raw IP addresses or raw user agents for QR scans, and hashed duplicate-detection fields are retained only for a limited operational window.
2. Device Permissions
The App may request the following device permissions:
- Photo Library: Used to select a profile picture for your account avatar.
- Calendar: Used to add your favorite Asbury Edge events to your device calendar. With your permission, the App creates a separate "Asbury Edge Events" calendar and adds, updates, and removes your favorite events there automatically. The App only writes to that calendar and does not read the events in your other calendars. Calendar event identifiers created by the App stay on your device, and we do not transmit your calendar data.
- Contacts: Used only when you choose calendar-editing features that can display local contact names. Contact data is not transmitted to our servers.
- Notifications: Used only when you opt in to event, favorite reminder, location-follow, or app-update notifications. You can change notification settings in the App.
All permissions are optional. The App will request access only when you initiate the relevant feature.
The event-flyer submission workflow is currently disabled in this app release.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App
- Create and manage your account
- Store and sync your favorite events, followed locations, hidden locations, notification preferences, favorite reminder settings, favorite calendar settings, and other preferences across devices
- Display supporter recognition notifications after completed support tips, which may include the supporter's username and do not grant a badge, status, rank, feature, or service
- Send you optional notifications about followed locations, favorite event reminders, app updates, and important service changes with your consent
- Respond to your inquiries and support requests
- Improve app stability through crash and error reporting via Sentry
- Measure first-party QR code campaign performance and route scanned QR codes to the correct app download page
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
4. Tracking and Advertising
Asbury Edge does not engage in any tracking or advertising practices:
- We do not display advertisements
- We do not track you across other apps or websites
- We do not access the iOS Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) or Android Advertising ID (GAID)
- We do not use advertising analytics SDKs or collect cross-app usage analytics
- We only use QR code scan metrics for first-party campaign measurement and app-download routing
- We do not share your data with data brokers or advertising networks
This aligns with our iOS Privacy Manifest declaration of NSPrivacyTracking: false.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may collect and process your data:
These third-party services have their own privacy policies governing how they handle your data. We encourage you to review their policies.
6. Future Submission Processing
The event-flyer submission workflow is currently disabled in this app release. If enabled in a future release, submitted images may be processed to identify event details such as date, time, venue, and description.
- You would review and edit identified information before finalizing any submission
- Submitted images would be stored in secure cloud storage during processing
- Images would not be used to train AI models
7. Event Content
Event listings in Asbury Edge are added and maintained by our team in collaboration with local venues, promoters, and community members in the Asbury Park area. All event listings are reviewed before publication.
8. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: With third-party services that help us operate the App (as listed above)
- In-App Public Display: If you make a support tip, your username may be shown in a supporter recognition notification visible to App users. This is not a purchased badge, rank, status, account feature, or service.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, legal process, or government request
- Protection: To protect the rights, property, or safety of Asbury Edge, our users, or the public
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
9. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. Specifically:
- Account Data: Retained until you delete your account
- Favorites, Follows, and Preferences: Retained until you remove them or delete your account
- Push Tokens and Notification Preferences: Retained while notifications are enabled for your account or device, and removed when no longer needed or when you delete your account
- Supporter Recognition Notifications: Support tip recognition notifications and related metadata may remain visible in the App until they are removed by us or expire under our internal retention settings
- Event Submissions (when enabled): If the submission workflow is enabled in a future release, submission records would be retained until processed, approved, or rejected. Pending submissions stored locally would be automatically deleted after 24 hours.
- Local Search History: Stored on your device until you manually clear it
- Crash and Error Reports: Retained per Sentry's data retention policy (typically 90 days)
- QR Code Scan Metrics: Retained only as long as needed for first-party campaign measurement, duplicate filtering, and operational troubleshooting
10. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format
- Withdrawal: Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
- Supporter Recognition Requests: Request review, removal, or anonymization of support tip recognition notifications that include your username
11. How to Delete Your Account
To delete your account and all associated data:
1. Open the Asbury Edge app
2. Go to your Profile (tap the profile icon)
3. Select "Delete Account"
4. Type DELETE to confirm
5. Tap "Delete Account" to permanently delete
Account deletion is immediate and permanent. When you delete your account, the following data is automatically and permanently removed:
- Your authentication credentials and profile information
- Your saved favorites
- Your followed locations, notification preferences, push tokens, favorite reminder settings, favorite calendar settings, hidden locations, and other preferences
- Any event submissions and reputation history (if present)
This action cannot be undone. If you wish to use Asbury Edge again after deleting your account, you will need to create a new account.
If you are unable to access the app, you may also request deletion from the web account deletion page or by emailing support@asburyedge.com. Manual deletion requests will be processed within 30 days.
12. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- Encrypted local storage (MMKV with encryption keys stored in the platform keychain)
- Secure authentication protocols
- Regular security assessments
- Limited access to personal data by authorized personnel only
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
13. Children's Privacy
Asbury Edge is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly.

14. International Users
Asbury Edge is operated from the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by:
- Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
- Updating the "Last updated" date at the top
- Sending a notification through the App for material changes
